If you have seen the work of abstract artist, Judy Hintz Cox, you’ll know that she creates paintings that evoke emotions, convey simplicity, and become a starting point for meditation.

Art in Bloom Gallery is pleased to present a unique event at the home studio of artist, Judy Hintz Cox.  This “Open Studio Party & Art Sale” will feature 75+ abstract and minimalist paintings at Judy’s home and home studio in Oak Island, NC.   Join us for a reception on Saturday afternoon, May 14th from 4 until 7pm with wine and refreshments while you get a special view into her art and home.  We will also be hosting viewing hours on Sunday, May 15th from 1 until 4pm.

Judy’s home is a pleasant 35-minute drive from downtown Wilmington.  But if you don’t want to drive, reserve your spot on the “Saturday Party Bus” from Wilmington to Oak Island for the reception on Saturday.  Let us take care of the driving as you relax with refreshments.  Spots are limited so contact the gallery for details. You can e-mail us at [email protected] or call the gallery at 910-763-8341. The Deadline for Reservations is Wednesday at 4pm!

There is plenty of street parking available and there are two vacant lots on 7th Street that guests are welcome to use.   (One lot is on the right at the beginning of the street and the other is on the left at the end of the street.)

About the Artist

Judy started painting while living in Peru, SA, at the age of 26.  That was over 40 years ago.

Upon returning to the USA, Judy worked as an artists’ model, where she met established artists, who critiqued her art.  This was invaluable. She was taught how to “see” color, composition and expression.  Her quest to learn more gave her the incentive to enroll at the University of Maryland for a second BA, in Studio Arts.

Ms. Hintz Cox resigned from her Psychiatric RN career to pursue art full time in 1999.  For the past 20 years, Judy has developed a unique style as an abstract minimalist. She has exhibited extensively throughout the USA.
