WORKSHOPS
Landscape Painting in Oils and Acrylic-November ClassCreate landscape paintings of your favorite scenes in oil or acrylic paints. You will be guided though the process of creating a painting “alla prima” (in one session). Learn the basics of designing a composition, color mixing and having fun with the oil or acrylic painting medium. The instructor provides group and individual instruction as well as a painting demonstration. Bring your photos. The instructor will bring some also.
For student of all levels. Students will bring their own supplies.
SUPPLIES:
Stretched canvas or canvas boards -8×10, 9×12 or 11×14 – One canvas for each day of class (total two)
Paints to bring:
Cadmium Yellow Light
Ultramarine blue
Cadmium red light
Burnt Umber or Raw Umber
Titanium white
Brushes:
Sizes: large, medium and small. Flats or filberts preferred
Other:
Metal palette knife preferred
Large 12×16 inch Palette (disposable paper palette or freezer paper are fine)
Paper Towels
For oil painters, Odorless Turpenoid or odorless mineral spirits (No turpentine)
Small container with screw top for Turpenoid or water
For acrylic painters, small spray bottle
Smock
Pencil, paper
Plastic gloves (optional)
Color wheel
