WORKSHOPS

Adventures in Ink and Watercolor Illustration

Students will bring their own supplies (see list below)

Don’t miss this workshop taught by award-winning artist and illustrator Mark Weber. Mark will introduce various techniques and applications combining both ink and watercolor, and how to use these mediums to create a strong composition.

Mark is internationally recognized for painting vibrant whimsical animals set in lush tropical settings, as well as moody, dream-like pieces rendered in ink and wash. Nature and it’s relationship with humankind is his main inspiration for his work. Mark’s illustrations weave a variety of approaches accumulated over the years, using a variety of mediums including oils, ink, watercolor and acrylics.

Mark’s illustrations have been featured in a variety of publications over the years including The New York Times, Rolling Stone, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, Chicago Tribune, Houghton Mifflin, Penguin Putnam, The International Herald Tribune, Rolling Stone, Playboy, Wilma Magazine, Cicada, Arthur Levine Books, Scholastic, LA Times Syndicate, American Eagle, Saucony Shoes, Bell Atlantic and NPR.  He has illustrated a number of children’s books such as Little Toot and the Lighthouse, The Pirate Princess, and Paul Bunyan. His paintings can be found in collections both private and corporate throughout the USA and Europe. Mark continues to work as both a fine artist and illustrator, welcoming new projects and challenges along the way.
