WORKSHOPS
Painting Coastal Skies and Water in oil and acrylicLearn to paint the extraordinary colors, cloud formations and beauty of the coastal landscape are. In this three day workshop, you will fine tune our appreciation by creating a series of paintings with a focus on: sunsets, sunrises, the gradation of sky colors and the cloud formations and reflections in water. The instructor will provide demonstrations and lots of group and individual instruction.
Students will work from their own photos which could be from their phone or iPad. Bring lots to choose from. At least four of sunrise, four of sunsets, at least four of cumulous clouds, at least four of other clouds. Include a number that have water in them.
SUPPLY LIST
5 Canvas or canvas boards – Two 8″ x 10″ or 9″ x 12″ and three 9″ x 12″ or 11″ x 14″.
Paints: Cadmium yellow light, orange, Ultramarine blue, Thalo blue, Cadmium red light, Alizarin Crimson, Burnt umber or raw umber, Titanium white.
Brushes: Variety of size small, med, large filbert and flat brushes. (3-5 brushes are plenty)
Other:
• Metal palette knife
• Palette (freezer/ butcher paper works fine)
• Paper towels (Viva brand)
• Smock
• Small drawing pad
• Pencil
• Plastic gloves (optional)
Oil painters should bring Odorless Turpenoid (no turpentine) and small container with screw top for Turpenoid
Acrylic painters should bring water container, small spray bottle and Golden Retarder
