Join the Cucalorus Film Festival at Thalian Hall on Sunday, November 24th at 7pm, for the official showtime of “Full Circle: Fiber Art by Rebecca Yeomans”.   The artist documentary focuses on Wilmington fiber art of Rebecca Yeomans and was produced by Art in Bloom Gallery and Amy N. Grant and is directed and edited by Honey Head Films.

For tickets, visit Cucalorus Film Festival’s website.

Fiber Artist Rebecca Yeomans’ fascinating process and story combine botanical printing, knitting, and stitching with a painterly feel. The film “Full Circle: Fiber Art by Rebecca Yeomans” captures the artist in her home studio and foraging for leaves and other botanical materials to create her original art. Each piece is unique and always a surprise whether a scarf or a piece of cloth on canvas. The process involves many steps including the relationship with the natural world inherent in the process: foraging walks, growing her own dye plants, the aroma of cooking eucalyptus, and the opening of a bundle to reveal what gift Mother Nature has given. The story of “Full Circle” reveals the artist’s childhood love of exploring nature and making art into her evolution as an artist.

Cucalorus was founded in 1994 by the underground filmmaking collective Twinkle Doon. At the inaugural event, crowds wrapped around the block to see 16 local films screening at Water Street restaurant by the Cape Fear River. These days Cucalorus takes place every November, celebrating independent and international film for five days in historic downtown Wilmington, NC. MovieMaker Magazine has recognized it as “One of the Coolest Film Festivals in the World” & “50 Film Festivals Worth the Entry Fee 2023”. www.cucalorus.eventive.org
