Joan McLoughlin is an award-winning contemporary artist whose acrylic and mixed media work is abstract, semi-abstract and floral abstract.
New York born and raised; Joan later moved to Baltimore to open a family lighting business with her husband. During that time, she studied art at Notre Dame University of Maryland. In the year 2000 she earned a BA degree, majoring in studio art and photography. Her work was exhibited in Maryland, Washington DC and Virginia.
Retirement brought a move to Wilmington NC where she now paints in her home studio, creating art for Art in Bloom Gallery and Eclipse Artisan Boutique. Other venues have included Wilmington International Airport, Arts and Health at Duke University Hospital, the permanent collection of the Wilson Center at Cape Fear Community College and numerous solo and group shows. www.joanmcloughlin.com
