“Painted Powerfully: New Work by Jeri Greenberg” Exhibit

“Storm Over Low Country” Pastel over acrylic on paper, 13.75″H x 18.5″W

“Painted Powerfully” is the newest exhibit of pastel paintings by artist, Jeri Greenberg.

Jeri’s past shows were mostly one subject and one focus. With her newest works, her intent is to paint powerfully, no matter the subject matter. This body of work features people, as well as still lifes, side-eyed glances and teetering apples.  The common denominators are powerful strokes, strong mark making and joyous color.

As an instructor, Jeri pushes her students to find their joy at their easel because the “easel has always been my “home”; the place I am the most serene, and the place where my scattered thoughts come together and settle around me like pixie dust.”

After many years as a fashion illustrator and sportswear designer, Jeri turned her love of graphic design towards advertising next. Having time to devote herself to painting again, and falling in love with the pastel medium, has led to a new and interesting “next act”, as a full time painter and teacher. Jeri loves painting still lifes, urban interiors, figures and fabrics, and the occasional landscape as well. Recently relocated, Jeri teaches weekly classes at the Cameron Art Museum in Wilmington NC, and holds demos and workshops around the country, as well as jurying national and international pastel exhibits.
